Mich. to take up RTW4less today

Police are pepper spraying and removing protesters from the Michigan Statehouse as the House of Representatives announced plans to ram an anti-union bill through the Legislature. House sessions have been called for Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Gov. Rick Snyder held a news conference today to announce he will support the right-to-work-for-less bill aimed at both public and private workers, with exemptions for police and firefighters.

Though Snyder said the bill is about "freedom," it includes language that makes it impossible to repeal by citizen referendum.

The video above shows Sen. Tonya Schuitmaker suppressing one freedom: speech.

According to the michigansenatedemocrats blog, the scene
...happened on the floor of the Michigan Senate this morning as the people of Michigan came by the thousands to speak out against Republican attempts to pass disastrous “Right to Work” legislation that would lower wages and reduce benefits...
Republicans have called in countless State Police officers again today to guard their offices and question the public as they enter the Capitol to protest the Republican agenda.
Frankly, if you have to bring in a massive police presence in order to conduct business at the State Capitol, it might be time for Republicans to rethink what they’re doing.
You can sign a petition against the anti-worker, pro-poverty legislation here. And stay tuned.
