Still another reason to close the border to Mexican trucks

This shouldn't come as any surprise, but billionaire union-buster David Koch wants to open the Mexican border to dangerous trucks.

Here's how we know: Koch backs the Reason Foundation,  which claims to be a "libertarian" think tank but which is really a front for the ultra-wealthy to destroy the American middle class. Reason thinks it's a great idea to open the Mexican border.

Yesterday, one of their bloggers praised the Department of Transportation's proposal to open the Mexican border. If David Koch and Reason think it's a great idea, it almost certainly isn't.

The Reason blogger actually argued that
Talk of safety concerns is disingenuous.
Well, no it isn't.

TeamsterNation has no doubt that the people at Reason know little or nothing about Mexican trucks. They probably have no idea how many people have been killed in drug violence in Mexico (30,000 in four years).

The author of Reason's silly blog post about Mexican trucks couldn't even parrot basic facts correctly. Katherine Mangu-Ward wrote that Mexico imposed "$2.4 billion in additional tariffs on U.S. goods imported to Mexico," when the actual phrase she should have repeated is "Mexico imposed tariffs on $2.4 billion worth of U.S. goods." How hard is it to get that right?

But this is typical sloppy work from the lackeys for the ultra-wealthy. Mangu-Ward used to write for The Weekly Standard, an irresponsible publication known for peddling bogus scandals on behalf of corporate billionaires. So TeamsterNation won't be surprised to see our aristocrats and their puppets continue to spew half-truths and lies in their never-ending quest to turn America into a low-wage society.
